View Full Version : Water between Fontana Dam and NOC
How is the water holding up between Fontana and NOC? Plan on hiking it late next week.

Just got back yesterday from that section. The water is flowing fine at all the marked places. But we could not find the water at Stecoah Gap.

It rained long and hard there last night - water should be fine.
The water source at Stecoah Gap: From picnic table go west 250 ft down a paved road, turn left on an old logging road. Go 500 Ft to a piped spring on the left.

And that is way I try to do some Trail Magic there every year..........I went down the hill on the right about a half mile, then no water and had to go to the next shelter without water. That was one long hot climb. Taught me a good lesson about water on the AT.
They could mark that site better but at best it is a long steep walk for water. Not as bad as Davis Farm but close.
