Got a Suunto Advizor (same as Vector) with a torn watchband. Can't find a replacement anywhere and have had a couple of different conventional watch jewelers tell me they had nothing.

I've got an email into Suunto, but haven't heard back yet. I do wear this to work as well as on the trail so the hemp/velcros wristbands would be a last resort.

Anybody had this issue and figured out a decent solution?

Thanks in advance.

I have a Suunto - did not like the band, so I put a Croakie band on it. I still have the palstic band it came with. The Croakie is more flexible and looks better, I think.

I replaced mine. REI sold a kit that included the band, 2 batteries (if you bought it used and are going to use it on a thru, that might be a good idea because not all battery replacement centers have these big watch batteries that the suunto takes)

They are good quality watches and bands but everything wears out eventually. I believe my 1st one lasted 2 thru's and i only had to change batteries and band.

I have the Suunto Vector and didn't like the feel of the plastic watchband on my skin. Caused too much sweat. I went to REI's website and ordered the elastic watchband, also by Suunto. Love it!

If you prefer the plastic original watchband, I'd be glad to mail you my old one. It's in a drawer somewhere, I believe.

Yup, just got a reply from Suunto and that's where they directed me.
The originals are out of stock so I bought the neoprene replacement.

Thanks for the offer Rainman, but I agree with you about the sweat. If you really don't want it I'll gladly take it off your hands.

These ZULU straps are great alternatives to factory bands, but you must have the "C" attachment that comes with the Suunto accessory bands to use them. Multiple sizes, colors and options are available and they're pretty much bullet-proof.

You just bought one? Not sure if you mean you want a second, but I'll leave it up to you. I'll gladly send it your way if you like. Just send me the name and address.

Also, just so you know (to avoid confusion), there is a "rainman" on WhiteBlaze, but it's not me. I use capitals and separate the names, thusly "Rain Man." I'm not fussing, just letting you know. I've actually received PMs intended for him, and I suppose vice versa might be true.

But I was here first! LOL

I just saw the other guy in another thread and thought you changed your avatar. I'm a pack rat, so I really don't need another band.

Slohiker, I'm liking that zulu band. Which size did you use on the Suunto?

22mm, if I recall correctly.

I haven't actually used the ZULU yet as my original polymer band is holding up OK, thus far .... but one of my buds has the ZULU and he swears it's the best band he's ever used. The quality and durability are immediately apparent. After trying his, I haven't seen anything I like better.
