A few pounds higher than your typical 3-4 day thru-hiker resupply leaving-town weight. How long will it take you do do the 100 miles? It's a relatively easy section, but still...

always figure a pound a mile so about 100 pounds!!! LOL
I am getting ready to hike that portion, and about the same as anywhere else, probably 35 pounds or so, I am not an ultra lighter, more of an enjoyer I reckon.

I dunno. Depends upon the season. Summer? 17# base + maybe 8 days(I'm a slow poke) x 1.5# food per day = 29# + @1# fuel + 2# water(1 liter) = 32#'s. Add a pound or so of DEET. Probably too much food and not enough DEET. Shouldn't have to carry more than 1 liter of water except a couple stretches.

Done it two straight years. First, on '06 with 70+ pounds. Last summer with 45 pounds. My answer - for this year too - 45 pounds - longest, heaviest stretch on the AT.:)
