Hey gang, just wanted to let you all know I completed an end-to-end of the Bibbulmun Track (http://www.bibbulmuntrack.org.au/) in Western Australia. The trail was incredible and I recommend it to anyone.

In a weird twist of fate, I was actually given some incredible trail magic by Whiteblaze member Waltzing Matilda, her husband Hawkeye and her sister Vegemite-on-Toast.

Just goes to show that even 14,000 miles from the AT our people stick together!

Cheers,
Snarf

Congrat to you for this achievement.

For those who (like me) are unfamiliar with this hike:
The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world's great long distance walk trails, stretching nearly 1000kms from Kalamunda (Perth Hills) to Albany (South Coast) through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australiahttp://www.bibbulmuntrack.org.au/GetFile.aspx?aliaspath=%2FFiles%2FTrack+Info+image s%2FTrack+maps%2FBibaustmap1_jpg

Hi
Well done, I have done a few sections myself but to do the whole lot is a great feat.
Did you have a favorite section?

Nice pix. I love walking along water -- river, ocean, whatever. Cool adventure.

These are some of the best photos I have seen of the Bib Track.
What pack did you use?
How did you plan your food resupply?
Where did you see the pigs? :)
What did you think if the hill leading upto and away from Mt Wells? :)

Great pictures. I always wondered how kangaroos slept. :D

Favorite section:
Would have to be the Southern Coast. Some of the most beautiful views I've ever had while hiking.
Pack:
ULA Catalyst. Pack weight was about 10kg/22lbs. Much lighter than most Bibb track hikers (it's hard to give up that AT weight cutting mentality)
Food:
Just bought stuff in the respective towns.
Pigs:
At Canning River
Mt. Wells Hill:
Great, I think I ran down it for 5km :-)
Snakes:
Saw the tail end of a Tiger and one that we think was a dugite

Oh and please tell me Australia lives up to its reputation for providing oodles of fine prospective wives.

Botch, the women down here are like the snakes -- beautiful but once they bite you it's all over. And no, I will not go back to work.

Oh and D'Artagnan, those 'roos are actually ducking down because of the rain. I was happy to see that they looked as miserable as me.
