View Full Version : Explorer vs Expedition
I have finally decided that I can't live without a hammock. I love the weight savings and the simplicity of the setup. After looking at various designs I fell in love with the Hennessey. I can't decide between the Explorer Ultralite A-Sym or the Expedition Asym.
I weigh about 215 lbs and am 6' tall. Either one could hold me but I am wondering if the Expedition Asym affords more interior space. Does anyone have any experience at comparing both of these?
Any and all thoughts are welcome.

I'd highly recommend you contact Tom or Ann Hennessy at Hennessy Hammocks. I'm sure they would be more than happy to discuss this and make sure you get the right model to fit your needs.

Check out this site, http://www.southsummit.com/Hennessy%20Hammocks.htm
it can save you a couple bucks VS. the HH company site. About $50 on the Explorer Deluxe $19. on the Expedition and $3 on the Snakeskins. I just ordered mine last week, they should get to me on Thurs.

I have used both, and would definitely recommend the Explorer Ultralite to you. I'm 5'9", 158 lb, and I like the extra room in the Explorer.
I have an explorer ulite asym and I'm 6' 2" tall. My friend has an expedition and I think that would be a little small for me. I fit in it, but since it is shorter than the explorer I don't lay as flat in it as I do in the explorer. I also find the explorer to be considerably more roomy in regards to width and height. So if you value interior space high I think you should go with the explorer.
