My country, has quite a few problems with wild dogs, recently a wild dog even killed a vacationer in the last couple of years. There are a lot of similarities of Wolves, Coyotes, and Dingo's. I have personally spent a day with a domesticated Wolf & Dingo on separate occasions. They are wonderfully powerful animals, they don't domesticate well, it requires much work with a professional. I have walked into Eastern Coyotes on the AT near Hawk Mountain on two occasions. I post this PDF as something of interest to us all. I was not looking to "start" anything, I just found it an interesting read. - Enjoy.

Country. Look at the link. It includes the abbreviation "au" - that means Australia. And dingos aren't a part of the USA. At least it's not a part of our lingo and the closest thing we might have to that is the coyote - and that's still not a dingo.

A dingo is a different species that developed in Australia only. The Australian Cattle Dog was bred from domesticated dingos to my knowledge. The coyote is only native to the Americas. Specifically North America. I know it can be rough dealing with wild dogs. We used to deal with them when we lived further north in Michigan. Coyotes are born and bred in a pack, wild dogs just form one and can be really nasty. I know a man with a domesticated wolf, and a woman with a coyote hybrid, and they are nicer animals than a wild dog is.

in the south eastern states there are american dingoes, often called dixie dogs or carolina dogs. They are pretty much just remnants of old native american indian dogs that have survived in the wilds of the south. I'm not sure if they've been given a seperate latin name from Canis familiaris like the dingoes of Australia have.

I had a dingo mix dog for ten years. She was given to me by someone who could not handle her. I have never had a better dog, she was intelligent, obedient, protective, and kept her training better than any other dog I have known.
