Hey folks.. I'm looking to walk into Damascus on August 2nd or 3rd and have about 6 days to get there. I'll be coming from Floyd VA, so I'd like to find a trailhead relatively convenient to Floyd(US-221 and VA-8) and 5 or 6 days walking north of Damascus. I won't be speed-hiking it but I'm no slouch.. any advice is greatly appreciated.

As a self-diagnosed poet, I can't help but love references to "The Road to Damascus".
Actually I love all analogies, however far I can stretch them until they break, or wear out. :banana

The original "Road to Damascus" journey was from Jerusalem, by St. Paul.
It was a NOBO, not SOBO, but also about 6 days by foot. 150 miles or so.
But that was hauling ass. Backpacking your gear could take longer. ;)

At this point Porcius Festus interrupted:
"You are out of your mind ... Your great learning is driving you insane."
