I think you are a crazy son of a gun!

But otherwise doable...
Day 1 - TN91 to Watauga Lake Shelter
Day 2 - Watauga Lake Shelter to Moreland Gap/Walnut Mountain
Day 3 - Walnut Mountain to Hump/Overmountain
Day 4 - Rest of the way

It's pretty ambitious, but doable if the weather cooperates.

J Rabbit, how was the climb up Hump Mtn SOBO from Hwy 19E? All the way down, my wife and I were saying "I'm glad we're not going SOBO!"

I think from the rock work on the north side of Hump, Houston Ridge & Yellow Mtn Gap up to Grassy Ridge will be the fun part. At least you will be able to try out the new relocations going south bound up Grassy Ridge. The ones on Little Hump will need another week. You might even run into the Konnarock crew \.

There will be some friendly folks on Jane Bald to meet you, a herd of goats.

BOC,

Why don't you call Mountain Harbor and see if you can stash some gear and food there, and pick it up the way.

Mountain Harbor is located just off the trail on US19E just north of Roan Highlands.
