If you have/install google earth and the trails you can see the fires position relative to the trails

When I clicked on the "Appalachian Trail.kmz" file from that thread and zoomed in without panning I came to a point just southeast of Campbelltown, Pa. that's 6.02 miles from my house. Does that mean I'm the closest WhiteBlazer to the center of the A.T. universe? :D

(That might depend on exactly where hikingPA lives...)
