I hate when they use the word "conquer" when hiking a trail.

A person doesn't "conquer" mountains. The best he can hope for is to learn the lessons they have for him that day. The mountains were there before any person, and will be there long after that person is gone.

Hmmm. What about that line from Robert Service (The Law of the Yukon) that you've used in your sig: And I will not be won by weaklings, subtle, suave and mild...Sure sounds like conquest to me. ;)
