I have been lurking this forum for some time and have appreciated all the info that has been posted. Thanks to all.

I am planning an AT thru hike within the next three years. Depends on job - if I get fired/laid off - the hike starts early. If not, three years. I work for a defense contractor and the contracts are constantly up for renewal - if we get renewed fine - if not - well that is fine too!

My problem is that I have wide feet (EEE). Don't laugh I am hell in the water! If I go to the outdoor shops that have shoes/boots they seem to be classified as small/medium/wide. The golf shoes come the same way but the wide golf shoe is uncomfortable after 18 holes.

I am a bit hestitant on ordering shoes online but if I have to I will. I currently do all of my walking/hiking in tennis shoes.

Anyone have any ideas as to who sells or makes hiking shoes/boots in the "super" wide width's?

here (http://www.worldclassgear.com/montrail_torre_gtx_hiking_boots.asp)'s a review of the montrail torre by a woman with your same issue.

try Dunham's, which you can buy at New Balance stores, because they come in EEE widths

Also, if you can find wide-size Lowa boots, they should run very wide...

after a quick bit of research, try the Dunham Wafflestomper Premier or the Terrastryder...both come in up to 4E widths

hope this helps!
