View Full Version : Amicalola Falls to First Snow

In early May I met a hiker from Atlanta (I believe) at Amicalola Falls Lodge who was headed onto the AT. He said he was going to be on the trail "until the first snowflakes." Anyway, has anyone run across him? He definitely was not ultralight and seemed to be carrying his whole house on his back. Except for his fuel cannisters which he ditched before getting on the bus in Atlanta.
Description-wise, he was fairly big, maybe 55-60 years old, and graying.

Oh, and he didn't have a cellphone or internet access.

I left on my thru 5/1 from Springer and if I had said that I would have had to get off in the GSMNP.

Na, it wouldn't have been you. We were at Amicalola May 7th or 8th.
