I would like some advice as to where you would recommend
placing some lashout points on homemade ponchos.

(I would like to have the option of a rainy lunchtime shelter, etc.)

Also, what are my options - grommets? webbing?
Whadayathink?

Cheerful thanks in advance,
Perkolady

I have A LOT of experience with poncho/tarps. It is one of the best and most versitile piece of equipment the Army has. They tried to get rid of them back in about '89 as I remember and it raised a stink.

What I reccomend is tie outs instead of grommets. Put one at each corner and one on the center of each long side. I had Moonbow make me one to my own specifications so I could also use it with my Hennessy Hammock:

Of course you can probably get one cheaper than this.

Thank you very much!

I can't wait to get started!

Ever since I first began backpacking, I have always included the poncho in the pack. Sure will be nice to have a NEW one !

Appreciate the advice.
And thanks also for your website!

I think your going to like it. I used mine on Friday night's hike. My youngest son and I used it as a tent. Not bad for 10 ounces or so in weight.

Yes they will. You may have to ask for it spacifically, and they are more expensive than the normall sil-nylon ponchos.
