More specifically, any NOBO stragglers or speedy SOBOs (or any others) who might be at the Earl Shaffer any of those nights.

I am a reporter for the Harrisburg Pa paper. I want to do a story on the plans to dismantle and preserve the shelter. Our photographers prefer people in the pics and I am hoping we can hook up with somebody early in the week who might be there for the night.

If you have a particularly unique story about that shelter to share, I would enjoy hearing from you as well.

If you are such a hiker, or know of somebody who might be in that area and have a way to contact them, I can be reached through the messages or e-mail here. Will also monitor this thread.

Also planning to post some fliers (in appropriate places, not on trees along the trail) and to check with the folks in Duncannon. I know at this time of the year, "traffic" in this part of the trail can be spotty. Any help hooking up with hikers who would not mind us taking photos of them for the story would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help.

Anybody with memories of that shelter they'd be willing to share, please e-mail or pm me. I can write about what the shelter is, but you guys can tell what it means to hikers.

Thanks for any assistance on this one.

Hiked there today and got the pictures I need, but I could still really use any good stories of staying there.
