What's the difference between duck and goose down?

3.5 lbs for a 10 deg bag seems a little heavy for a down bag - price is about what I would expect for those specs....

What's the difference between duck and goose down?Duck down doesn't tend to loft as much as the highest quality northern goose down, so a bag will need more duck down stuffing to attain the same temperature rating as a comparably sewn goose down bag. Consequently, goose down tends to be less expensive.

Duck down is inferior to goose down. If you're going to go 'feathers,' go goose! ;)
