This may be a stupid question but what exactly is an RV value? i know the higher it is the more insulating it is but what exactly does it stand for, how are they rated ect?

Thanks in advance.

1R is equiv to a foot thickness of rock, with regards to heat transfer. If I'm remembering right from the day.

An R of 1.5 transfers heat twice as fast as an R value of 3.0 for an equal area of heat transfer

In this case, the bigger the R the better you will keep warm

RV value is what your Winnebago is worth. R value is a relative measure of insulation efficiency

Haha, looking at the title of the thread, I was expecting to find a discussion about gas prices causing the value of Recreational Vehicles to plummet! :)

They were never worth much to begin with. Nothing more than a hotel room on wheels if you ask me.:D
