What do you do on your zero days to relax, have fun, or just pass the time by?
Rest, do some reading, rearange items in the pack. stuff that doesn't involve pounding the feet.
zero days are for eating, resting, replacing or getting gear, resting and eating some more and eating still more! oh and shopping for more food to eat more again!

resupply, which usually took WAY more time than we wanted and involved WAY more walking than we hoped.
And eat. And enjoyed being clean...

Being the sort of compulsive whatever that I am, I spent zero days mostly working my butt off--laundry, shopping, going to the Post Office, going through my pack and cleaning things, making phone calls, making arrangements for the upcoming sections... It was a lot of work. I always ended up tireder than I started, and was relieved to get back out of town so I could get some rest.
I noticed, though, that plenty of people spent their zero days watching TV and movies. So that's an option.

I was the same way Marta. Now I'm all about spending as little time in towns as possible. They're exhausting!
Next time I'm probably carrying some 3x5 cards to make shopping lists and whatnot BEFORE getting into town. That saves me a ton of time, as I've got the attention span of a gnat.
I couldn't sleep well in town either. Too hot in the heated rooms. Stayed up too late when there were electric lights. Exhausting.

drink beers and put my feet up.
i'd rather hike out of town with dirty clothes than take too much time away from beer sippin' & meat eatin'.:D

geek i always liked sharing my whiskey with you geek,like i had a choice:) i don't go near computors on zero days or any days while hiking!!!

Usually on my zero days I hiked to pass the time...uh, well, i guess that's why I had no zero days...

Eat. Do laundry. Drink beer and eat. Sleep. Eat. Drink more beer. Grocery shop. Drink beer. Eat. I'm sorry, was this a real question or did it belong in the Humor thread?:confused:
