Hi, I know one may park near Catawba & hike toward Mcafee's Knob but where is the next parking north past there? Was thinking there may be something near Troutville. Any help?

The ATC has a pretty good link for "parking" questions. I don't know if it will answer your specific question, but it's a good source, none the less.

20 miles north is Daleville, where there are shopping plazas right off the trail. You could easily get away with leaving your car here for the day.

I have left my car at the Dragons Tooth Trailhead with no problems

There is a mall perhaps half a mile left of the trail crossing of US-220 in Daleville (left when walking NOBO). There's a smaller parking lot to the right near I-81 also that's less than a quarter mile from the trailhead.

There is plenty of parking in the Daleville area/Hwy 220.

The two hotels, Howard Johnson and Super 8 (the old Ecno Lodge) use to let hikers park in their lots.

There is a Park and Ride on 220 a few yards past the Exxon station. (take right if coming off trail)

There is a small trail parking lot on Hwy 11 in Troutville.
