View Full Version : Water and trail condition to Cheoah Bald
I'm planning a hike to Choeh Bald from Stecoah Gap. Could anyone give info about water availability along the trail. How about campsites on the bald. Any must know info for this area. Thanks for the help!!!:sun
Well I made a Labor Day hike up to Cheoah Bald and it was really a good trip. Great weather, great fellowship with my son, good sun rise and sun set, and even with 18 other people on the bald, (well mannered after the exersize of climbing the incline) all went well. And oh yes there is water near by, even a sign in the middle of the trail to point the way.

How far is the water from the summit?
It is about a quarter of a mile. However it seems a whole lot longer on the trip back up.:sun

Cheoah has plentyy of camp space on top I stayed there this past feb. Follow the trail to almost the end of the summit for a great place to camp on your right.
