View Full Version : Port Clinton parking
In early September I plan to leave a car in Port Clinton and hike North from Duncannon to my car, take a zero, and then hike North for another week or so before returning to my car. Can I safely park at the Pavillion or the Trailhead? Any other thoughts of safe places to leave a car?

maybe talk to http://www.yeoldebackpacker.com/ http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/member.php?u=12885 they are really nice and helpful
You might also email BMECC (http://www.bmecc.org) to see what they are able to offer you in the way of advice or assistance.
The picnic grove and pavillion is owned by St. John's Church. I wouldn't park there without first clearing it with them and I'm not of a mind that parking there would be your best option.
A call to Port Clinton Hotel might yield some good suggestions. They have a website you could Google for contact information.
Thanks for the help. I have been in touch with Scott at Ye Olde Backpacker and plan to leave my car at his place as I complete the last remaining section of the AT. After that I may climb up Katahdin even though that won't be the spot where I finish. It just seems as though a Maine boy should have his picture taken there after completing the AT.
