I'm wondering which backpack is the closest equivalent in weight and features to the (currently unavailable) ULA Catalyst?

Don't know but have you tried calling Mountain Crossings (http://www.mountaincrossings.com/)? They had some the last time I checked.

Mount Rogers Outfitters (http://mtrogersoutfitters.com/) in Damascus had the Catalyst (http://mtrogersoutfitters.com/gear.asp?fn=d&cat=3&item=403) in stock a couple weeks ago when I was up there. You may want to check with them.

I was at Mountain Crossings over the weekend. Winton has a supply of Catalysts which should last into October.

Will do. I'm missing a small section of that hike you're doing. I know that's going to be a good one. Head up.... be on the look out for a long dark haired school teaching beauty at Dots. Serious eye candy for sure ;)

Has anyone seen a M/L 2008 Conduit in stock at MRO, Bluff Mountain, or Mountain Crossings?

As for a replacement, the Gossamer Gear Mariposa Plus looks pretty close. I saw doezens on Catalysts on the PCT, but the Marisposa Plus was widely used as well. You will have to supply your own foam sheet, but it does have two light stays. I haven't used one, but if the Catalyst was no more, I would buy one.

MC had Conduits in late June but I don't know how many they had in stock. I seem to recall they were out of medium size bags but had all belt sizes.
