This is great. A lot of people don't realize that there are walkable trails that connect major cities like New York and D.C. to the A.T.

I have the fold-out brochure on that trail. Several fairly large stretches are marked as "not yet completed".

There are some big gaps in the Schuylkill River trail but there is a connection to the AT by way of the 144 mile Horshoe Trail. Essentially you pick up the Horshoe after you hit Valley Forge National Park. You pick up the AT north of Harrisburg. We have been pushing the Counties for years to complete this damn trail. I just want to walk out my front door and head toward Maine.
