Ive been looking at this light weight baby and I am amazed that only (medium size) 8oz of fill can keep you warm at 32F!
All other bags Ive looked at need 14oz + of fill to get to that temp range.

Are these bags as good as they say? Even with no hood?!

Im going to be using the bag in the 30'sF temp range, so Im guessing a beanie is the go on my bald head...will have one anyway so no weight gain. As long as it all keeps me warm.

Also what mats are people using at these temps with these bags? Anyone using Gossamer Gears NightLight 3/4 Length Sleeping Pad?
What do you sleep in at these temps clothes wise?

Reviews so far are good. What about a bit more from you users.

It'll work fine in a hammock, it'll work okay on the ground (with a pad of course) as long as you aren't one who constantly tosses in his sleep, if you do the constant drafts will wake you up. I doubt you'll make it to freezing without some added head insulation. That is why Nunatak makes that down hood. Personally, if you want a quilt, I'd recommend the JRB No Sniveler instead.

I used the Nunatak Back Country Blanket weight about 24 oz with a BA insulated air mattress from Hot Springs for the rest of the trail, flip flopped and finished in Gorham in late October.. I worked well about 95 percent of the time.. Did get cold my last night out on the trail..
