looks like it is time to do some hiking, so i'm heading up to maine next week and trying to figure out the logistics.
anyone heading to baxter from the portland and/or bangor area on wednesday or thursday?
let me know and we can make a trip of it....

Fly into Portland or Bangor. If you fly into Portland, you can take a Concord Trailways to Bangor and get a shuttle from the AT Lodge to Millinocket, that will cost you 70 dollars(ish).

you flying up? Contact Boarstone here, she does drops in the wilderness, and may want to join you for a section.
Make sure you buy a Southerner to Mainer translating dictionary at the airport first!!

Lordy, yes! I gave Clyde a ride up Baxter from Portland and he talked for 5 hours.
No idea at all what about...
