I've been looking at Zpacks and i'm very interested in a cuben pack. is it worth the extra for the cuben as they claim improved durability over the sil-nylon? i also like the look of the cuben!:) does anyone have experience of cuben packs?

Cuben is better for tarps and the only way to go... WT.
I'd buy a few stuffsacks first. Test the durability then decide.

We use the Blast Zpacks and they are almost bulletproof for lite gear!
For a UL pack I would decide based on weight and size and fit and features.
If this pack gives you those things that yeah, but nylon is a good material for a UL pack.
I'm planning on getting one of their 750 cu/in. stuff sacks for a food bag. I'll let everyone know what I think when it shows up.
I've been happy with the Blast 26, the 1.5 cuben food bag, and have a 2009 MLD Revelation pack on the way made of the same 1.5oz cuben. I have numerous items in the standard 0.6 including an MLD DuoMid shelter and an MLD Grace Solo tarp as well as 4 stuff sacks. I've NEVER had any problem with the gear and would never head out without much of it.
I have heard its great stuff but im scared to buy somethign so pricey with out touching it first.
Call MLD ...you will not go wrong on his info or gear.

Joe at zpacks seems to be a great guy to work with. He is buliding me a cuben duomid and is very customer focused. I may try one of his packs once I get my total pack weight down to about 20lbs. I'm around 25 now.

Would you buy an all silny pack of the same design? Would you need the extra durability?
If you answer no to either of those, I would look elsewhere.
I have one of the ZPacks cuben packs and I absolutely love it. It's my favorite pack for UL loads. Fine piece of gear, great fabric, well made, very strong, fits and carries well and is crazy light.
That being said, I agree with Joe that his packs are best suited for loads under 20 pounds.
