A warning for those of you who are planning to stay at Jay Camp your last night on the LT. I was up there this weekend only to find that the shelter is all boarded up and jacked up on stilts. There are 2-3 passable campsites just past the shelter. The outhouse is still in operation and the water supply is also great. My advice would be to camp at Jay Camp and avoid sleeping in the Atlas lean-to nearby, which is right on the road.

Thanks for passing that along to me when we passed in the rain. I'm SOOOO glad I found out BEFORE I got there at the end of a long wet day!

any idea if it has been re-opened for this summer?

It still has a roof on it and is open to overnight guests. They will complete the work on it this year though I do not have a time frame on the completion.

I stayed there three nights ago 6-26-09 going SOBO and it's open for business and looking pretty good.
