For those A/T hikers finishing the hike, there are a lot of orchards in Western Maine that are now hiring pickers--wage is guaranteed at $9.70 an hour, housing provided or tent out.:welcome

Ooh, I was looking for a short term contract computer programming job in Maine so that I could finish the state, I never considered the orchards. Maybe next year.

Has to be a nose orchard. I don't think they grow anything else in maine. Plus who would pay that much to pick apples?
