Hi Folks!
North Dakota's other trail...the Maah Daah Hey, a 95 mile long trail that runs through Theodore Roosevelt National Park from north to south, is getting a new addition of 45 miles!!

Unfortunately, this trail is used far more by bikes and horses than it is by hikers, mostly due to the way it's set up. Only 8% of all usage is hikers. Bikes however are not allowed in the National Park areas. It's a challenge for hikers, with water being relatively scarce, campsites being few and far between and the bentonite clay of the western badlands being oh so much fun (sarcasm inserted here) when even a quarter inch of rain falls.
North Dakota needs more trails to be sure!! There are lots of abandoned rail lines and road beds here that would make "perfect" trail beds. :D
