Hello. I am just finishing up "a walk in the woods" (which is a awesome book) and was wondering if anybody has read the book "on hte broken path" or "awol on the Appalachian trail", and what they thought about them. Thanks

Sorry, that would be "On the Beaten Path" by Robert A. Rubin. One of my favorite AT/thru-hiking books.

"AWOL on The Appalachian Trail" (and its author) are well-known to WhiteBlazers. Personally, it's not one of my very favorite AT books, but that's just a matter of personal taste.

I recently read "AWOL on the Appalachian Trail" and thoroughly enjoyed it. It doesn't flow as smoothly as a book by a mainstream author, but it has a genuineness to it that I really like.

Walk in the Woods and Awol-both good reads. I liked the Awol for the data, advice and info I gleaned from it on hiking a thur hike.

I recommend On the Beaten Path. It has a great account of the emotional side of being on the trail.
