Just got back from a weekend hike through Juniper. The storms really did a number on the trail. I think I spent more time hurdling and crawling under debris than I did walking. Water sources were abundant but there were only two sections I remember where the trail itself was flooded. Somehow I managed to keep dry though. Only saw one bear. :)

If I can figure out how to share my photobucket album I'll post the pics. :-?

Roger that. October is full every weekend but let's see how Nov/Dec play out if you're up for that.

I hiked the short piece from Clearwater Lake to Alexander Springs (10mi+/-) two weekends ago. I was shocked at how many trees down not to mention the Pine tree I had to climb trough the whole tree was down on trail S. of Duck pond I can say about 40 percent of that section is over grown and 1 bridge needs to be fixed. Do not take this as a complaint just was more like work than enjoyment. Does anyone group up to do maintenance in this area? If not maybe some that live close by can help would be a really nice trail in winter times if trimmed up some.

Juniper was an incredible workout. There were big sections where walking wasn't an option. You were either hurdling over debris or crawling under it with no option to walk around. F Troop is working on Juniper Nov 8-15th but I don't know what section(s).

Paddle in to the heart of the Juniper Wilderness for a week of backcountry camping and trail work. We’ll float down the Juniper Springs Run with enough tools and supplies to spend 5 days out on the trail. It’s a Wilderness area, so no power tools allowed. The crosscut saws will be tuned up and the axes sharpened for this one. This project will be hosted by the Halifax-St Johns Chapter. Camping will be primitive and all of the equipment will be brought in your canoe. Training will include Wilderness Leave No Trace practices and Traditional Tools.
I didn't see any way to paddle near where we saw the bad spots.
