Dip the Platy in a fast moving section in a stream if it is deep enough and has enough flow. Otherwise, fill a Gatorade bottle and pour that into the platy.

Also wise to have a cup in case the water is too slow/low for even a bottle.

I've used my pot (which required unpacking and dumping all the stuff I keep in it) or my old Sierra cup (much better! But slower). Instead of dipping, just put the cup straight down into the stream, so that water flows into it over the edge. No sediment scooped up that way.

If it's a slow moving stream, find a small dropoff or ledge, there's usually one not too far. Sometimes I use a folded leaf to guide the streamflow between two rocks. Just make a little corner in the middle of the leaf, position appropriately, and let the water run a few seconds to clear any disturbed soil.

All of the above work. Can also use a ziplock bag for dipping into shallow pools. Easy to then pour into the platy.

I use a 1L platy with the top cut off which forms a collapsible scoop. Dip and pour.

I don't put anything but water in mine. If you want to make flavored drinks, I would carry a Gatorade bottle just for that.

Me neither. You don't need all that sugar while you are walking anyway.

Any of the flavorings are fine, whatever suits your taste. You can make yourself feel better about being healthy if you stick to things like sports drink mixes. Crystal Light contains artificial sweeteners, so it is very light weight.

Health wise, you should probably drink mostly plain water, maybe treat yourself to flavorings for lunch or dinner. Personally, I find plain water the most satisfying when I'm thirsty, but I drink mostly plain water at home too.

I'm a Zone-Diet freak, swilling sugar water will take you out of the "Zone". You need to consume carbs/protein on a 4/3 ratio. So, mix your gatorade (I really like the new 16oz packages) and eat some jerky with it. And above all else, stay hydrated. Water alone is a poor medium to support bacterial growth, you put sugar in a vessel that isn't easy to clean and you've got a problem.
