Hey guys
What's a good lightweigt tent for a big person [6'2" 250 ] who's planning on doing a solo thru hike ?

If you want some extra roomand don't mind alittle extra weight you may want to consider a light 2 man.
....or a tarp.

6'4" 280 here. It all depends on how claustrophobic you are. I use the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 1. It is a snug fit for me, but it is light.

MSR Hubba Hubba - freestanding 2man, but still fairly light (for the size -4lbs, 6oz packed before losing extras). Plenty of length (6'3 and no issues), and a good 3 ft or so wide. Lose the rainfly on nice nights, everything above the floor is mesh.

Get the 43 oz "standard floor" if you decide. For a bit over 2.5 pounds this would be my choice if I were to go with a larger tent. Four people can play cards in this thing.

I am 6' 3" and 300 LB. I carry a Rainbow 2, it has plenty of room and when one of my kids what's to go along (12 year old or 14 year old) we fit very well together. I am sure I could go with a Rainbow 1 for just me.
Don't be too afraid of single wall either, if you pitch it properly and select yoru site well you will have little to no condinsation problems. I have also had mine in really hard long down pours and have not had any real problems with misting (I do use a liner inside).
I am 260 lbs and have a Seedhouse SL1 and it is wide enough for me. I hammock during the warmer months and have a Speer SPE that I have started using tent camping as well. You can make your sleeping pad cover 30-40 inches at the shoulders and hips with this if you need that as well.

Why not a tarptent squall? 2 pounds and advertised for 2 people.
I'm 6'3 and use a Traptent rainbow.

Tarptent Rainbow is the largest solo backpacking tent I've owned and used, both in terms of floor space and headroom. I'm not a large person, but the tent is huge, IMO.
