I have hiked the Byron Reese to Freeman to AT to Blood Mountain down to Byron Reese loop and few times and really like the distance and difficultly.
What are some similar loops in North GA?
Have you tried adding on the Lake Winfield Scott Loop, Slaughter Creek Trail and Jarrad Gap Trail in that area? Also look at Black Rock Mountain State Park with its James E. Edmonds Backcountry Loop and Tennessee Rock Trail Loop, and Fort Mountain State Park with its Gahuti Backcountry Trail/Loop and shorter trails/loops.

There are ENDLESS dayhike possibilities in NE GA. Pick up a few of Tim Holman's books. He will keep you plenty busy.
