All you need is a spoon. Leave out the knife, fork and wooden spoon.

You will save weight and pumping with chemicals instead of a filter. Aqua Mira is my treatment of choice. MOst filters are not designed for 5 months of use.

For clothes, you did list a short sleeve shirt. What will you be hiking in?

You did not list rain/wind pants for the cold weather. I would hike in shorts/skirt and have the rain pants for extreme cold days. I don' tthink the zipoffs will add any value to you.

Most guys do not bother with underwear. It is up to you and comfort level.

3 pair of socks is good. You will prob hike in two and wear the third at camp.

You do not need cream against sunf or your face. You spend most of the time under the trees and under your hat. If you bring some, just bring a ounce or two in a small bottle.

You only need one lighter

Just bring the pages of the books for each section. You don't need the whole book.

My wallet was a small ziploc bag.

1lb for music? I guess that is up to you. Maybe a small MP3 player like an IPOD would be more efficient than CD's

Chirs is going to suggest ear plugs. I always agree. Just saving him the time

What is the soap for?

What is a salt cellar? I doubt you will need to bring salt with you as most of the food you eat on the trail contain tons of it.

Happened to me the other day, only the strike roller literally flipped out, went flying. I'd bring wooden matches as a backup.

Double or triple your advil supply. They weigh nothing and you'll be wolfing them down.

Leave the diskman at home.
