Ok folks I know this is kind of a worn out question, but instead of taking summer classes I have decided I need a vacation and have decided to section hike between semesters. So assuming I leave Damascus with the NOBOs after Trail Days and averaging about 10 miles a day, how far north do you think I can get?

10 x number of days hiked but it is unlikely a 20yo will only do 10s after the first week

3 months heading north from Damascus? Maybe to CT. No way will you go only ten miles.

As a fit 20yo, your bigger challenge will be to not start out too fast and injure yourself. Start out with 10-12 mile days for the first week and build from there. Don't try to keep up with the new friends you made at Trail Days, as they'll already have 6 weeks and 500 miles under their belts.

Just a quick question I've had about planning my own pace, I'm in my early/mid twenties and am considering the AT this March / April, a comment above states "it is unlikely a 20yo will only do 10s after the first week", what would be an average pace for someone not in really a rush to get things done? I realize this is quite a personal level as well, but if there is any insight it might be nice! Thanks
