First of all. THANK YOU !!

My father wants to try and track my going.
I couldn't find on the internet a more detailed map than just an overview of the trail. Is there a place on the net where I can get more detailed map ? not an acurate detail of each city, but a map that will go a bit deeper into details, not just the countries.

Thank for ALL of your help guys, you keep on helping and I REALLY appreciate this help. You are all good people. May god bless you all !

Look at http://www.atctrailstore.org/catalog/iteminfo.cfm?itemid=136&compid=1 for a 9.5 inch by 48 inch strip map of the entire trail for $3.50. This is what a lot of the people who follow a hiker's trip from home would use. They can put little marks and notes along the way to trace your progress.

Roee--

Those maps are excellent, but you might also consider this one:

http://www.atctrailstore.org/catalog/iteminfo.cfm?itemid=222&compid=1

To my way of thinking, it puts the entire trail in better perspective-- since it shows most of the eastern seaboard in the regular North-South orientation, and is big enough to include New York City, Washington DC, the Great Lakes and Florida. To put it another way, even geographically challenged friends and neighbors will catch on real quick as to what they are looking at! And just how long the Trail really is.

Its not as pretty as the strip map if you don't dress it up, but one thing I like about it is that is big enough that when you are done, you can mount a few photos around the edge and put it in a frame. After my Dad made notes along the way marking my progress on one he bought for me, he did just that. Its really cool. Did I say that its big? ;-)

Roee, I am not one to push gear, but your Dad needs both!

I use the map that veteran posted above on my own webpage to track my brother. He's out there right now. The page should be in my signature. Check it out. I use photoshop to mark the progress along the trail and update it about once a week (or whenever he remembers to call). It looks like you've taken care of the situation though. Tell your father good luck!!!
