I'm always looking for new ideas for food and stumbled on this site:

http://www.onepanwonders.com

They have lots of recipes there as well as a book that you can buy with even more. I have no association with the site.

Teresa runs OPW - otherwise known as Dicentra. T and I have been hiking partners/friends since 2002. I was very proud of her getting her first book out recently!

Just took a look at this site and I like the looks of it. Will definitely give it a closer look and try some of the meals. :)

I believe I'd like to do a weekend backpacking trip with you two, maybe longer. I'll carry the stove, fuel, and the pot(s) and you guys can cook. :D

Glad to help. I was just checking out the chicken and dumplings recipe. Now that is my kind of food!

Lol....but I'll warn you: she will make you do the dishes  :D She still hasn't forgiven me for conning her into a 20.5 mile dayhike on the PCT that was supposed to be 12...hehheh!

Beth - my deal is that if you do the dishes, I will pack and cook the food. :)

Papa John - That chicken n dumplings recipe is one of the recipes that started it all! Blame my (now) hubby.

Sarbar - I will get even. That was some trip! First it was 12 miles. Then it was 14. Then 16. Then 19...

Our next trip will prolly end up being 25. lol.

Dicentra: I would gladly do the dishes. I do them now anyway!

I prefer to have simple meals like that one, I guess my pallette isn't as sophisticated as it might be.

Sarbar: Next trip out, sneak a bottle of wine into her pack!

Very cool site. I'll have to take some time and read through the recipies, some of them sound pretty good.

No need!! Sarbar knows I'm the wino of the group! I almost always have wine (and chocolate!) in my pack. :banana LOL.

She does pack good wine, something I don't carry - but if I want, I know who to mooch off of ;-)
