Does anyone know on what dates the various 2009 guides become available?
Appalachian pages is having a good deal now. Buy it now and they send you this years imediately. Then when the 2009 comes out they send it to you. Gives you something that is pretty accurate to use for planning. The others may have similar offers.

The 2008 Thru-Hiker's Companion, which most folks consider to be the most accurate of the three major Trail guides, can be examined for free at www.aldha.org
The 2009 edition of this work should be available in early January.
