Condition Assessment Technician - Lyme, New Hampshire
The Appalachian Trail Conference (ATC) is seeking applicants for a temporary (up to four weeks) position inventorying trail features and identifying areas that need trail work in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. All data will be collected, entered into a GPS unit, and downloaded into a database at the ATC office in Lyme, N.H. The technician will complete data collection templates and photograph overnight sites, parking lots, side trails, bridges, and other trail assets encountered during the assessment process. The applicant must have prior trail crew experience, preferably in New England, basic computer skills, and proficiency in Word, Access, and Excel. Prior experience using GPS is desirable, but we will provide training if necessary. This job will require long hours in the field and extensive travel. Must be comfortable working in the woods alone, but also be willing to work with volunteers. Vehicle available for long-distance travel, but must be willing to use own transportation occasionally.
