It's hard to believe but as I look out my office window here in Atlanta I see snow falling. Makes me want to get up on the AT and do a little white walkin'.

I saw one flake. That's about it.

Just got back from my lunchtime walk in downtown Atlanta, a little snow, a little sleet and 13mph wind. It was great!

If ya wanna see lotsa flakes in Atlanta just head out to I-75 or the Perimeter at 5PM.
Add rain or snow to increase number of flakes exponentially.

HA HA. I was driving the perimeter late one night when a c1970 Plymouth Roadrunner passed me like I was standing still. The rods were banging and fire was coming out the exhaust. "How strange", thought I until about a minute and a half later a dozen Highway Patrol cars came flying by. That guy might have gotten away if he hadn't blown up his car. The next scene I came up on was a Roadrunner with the engine on fire, a dozen randomly parked Highway Patrol cars and a Rodney Kinglike scene.

Lived in Atlanta for about 18 years and can count on one hand the number of times I saw snow.

Course now we live in Wyoming and ...well, snow is a pretty steady diet this time of year.

Local ski slopes open in less than 3 weeks. I'm PSYCHED !!

I was just up at Neels Gap about noon and it was beautiful. With the christmas decorations and several inches of snow it looked like something out of an old timey christmas story.

You must have a lot of fingers on that hand.

Depends on which years. We've been through quite a number of winters with no snow at all in the Metro area.

Most places that get snow deal with inches, not flakes. Do they even sell snow shovels around here? :p

I'm down in suburban hell today, but just got off the phone with folks in Suches and they are reporting .5-1 inch.

SNOW? I drove down to Punta Gorda, Florida today to pick up my kayaks for the weekend. Tampa Bay was sparkling beautifully in the 72F sunshine. Just a ripple of breeze on the water. I remmeber snow, it looks pretty, sucks to drive in it.

It snowed so hard on me on the way home tonight, I could hardly see the road. But then again, I live very far north. My decks are covered with ice at this moment.

Hiked in the snow Wednesday on Wine Spring and Wayah. Not much fun on one or two day old snow. It was pretty and all, but it is definitely a slow go. A couple of pictures are in the gallery!

Yep there was more or less snow or light sleet here in cobb county around lunch time and early afternoon. Wish we got real snow down here!

Wish we got real snow down here!Since my county road department's ice removal equipment consists of a pickup truck full of sand and a couple of shovels, I'd prefer not to see too much frozen precipitatoin of any sort.

Don't feel bad DWM. I live on a city road in a city with one guy in a city with a population of around 1000. If we get frozen precip here, and it stays below 40F(lots of tree cover over the roads), we have ice for weeks. We have went the entire month of January having to use 4WD to get out of my little road.

Actually if you are prepared, snaow hikes are pretty outrageous. Snow is a lot drier and warmer than rain although it sounds wrong, trust me.

Hiked in a good amount of snow two weeks ago in Hot Springs, NC area. If you can find em, a buddy of my put pics up in the gallery. Don't know his screen name though. But, being originally from Alabama, and living in SC, it is needless to say that it was quite the experience.

Oh....it was 3-6 inches of snow, depending on elevation...by the way!
