I'm heading out Feb. 25th for my NOBO, anybody in the austin area want to get together for a few training hikes before then? My schedule is wide open. Hit me up.
I live in Brenham and I love to hike, but you should know ... NOTHING IN TEXAS CAN PREPARE YOU FOR THE AT! 20 miles is pretty doable for me in Texas, but not I've only done one 20 mile day on the AT.
Yeah, give me a holler. I need to stretch my legs.

I'd have to say that the Outer Mountain Loop in Big Bend (33 miles) would be rather comparable as long as you are not out there in August. It has pretty good ups/downs into the Chisos and then lots of rolling hills in the desert and then finishes up/down the chisos. :)
