Can anyone tell me the closest shelter either North or South of Max Patch? I am trying to calculate how many miles Max Patch is from Springer. Thanks in advance! Josh
Roaring Fork Shelter to the north, Ground Hog Creek Shelter , south. :)
South Groundhog Creek Shelter (about 6 miles south of the Summit)
North Roaring Fork Shelter (about 2 miles north of the Summit)
The Summit of Max Patch is approximately 322.5 miles from Springer Mtn.
Ground hog creek has a great place to set up your tent if its full. I didnt stay at roaring fork to close to the road or maybe it was deer creek or park something cant remember.
Ground Hog Creek Shelter is 244.9 miles from Springer. Max Patch is 5. 75 miles north. :)

Max Patch Road at the south base of Max Path is 251.2 miles from Springer.

Nah, that can't be right. Hot Springs is mile 270/271 and Max Patch is south of there. If I'm right, Max Patch is about 251 miles from Springer.

Sorry, I don't know what I was looking at, but you are right, only 250.9 miles from Springer to the Max Patch Summit.
