i tried to search on this... but the only mention of archer farms was their fruit strips...

anyways i was in target, looking for lipton sides when i notice archer farms has pasta sides.... yes there are several immediate downs: price, cooking time a little longer.

The big upside: a gourmet option: the flavors looked great: i got spaghetti pesto (1 serving), penne carbonara (2 servings), porcini mushroom (whole wheat mac and cheese)(3 servings)

the first two take 8-10mins to cook and come in a pouch inside a box, the third takes 12-14min but didn't come in a pouch (so i'll toss the box and put it in a ziplock)

tried to find a list of all the flavors, but here are the nutritional information on the three i got

so has any tried these, are they as good tasting as they loook?

I have tried the Penne Carbonara. Not bad, definitely not two servings though especially for a hiker. The rice dishes look good too.

anything like that you can cook it in the bag it comes in if its the heavy duty paper lined with foil and plastic (given that you haven't "handled" it too much) just open the top pour boiling water in and wait 10 mins giving it a shake every minute or so to mix everything up, but if you have handled it too much the packaging gets thin and wears out, think like tyvek if you kept folding it along the same line over and over. by the time your done the bag will be about ready to fall apart but its going in the garbage after that right? so it really doesnt matter

They are quite good - they are also making new couscous ones as well :) I reviewed a number of them this past summer.
Add some chicken and they will feed two :)
