I want to hike the at b ut dont have the time to do it all at one time. I live in nc and am willing to ride the bus where ever but i do not know where to begin. the problem is getting home or back to the car solo. any help would be greatly appreciated

Forget the bus drive your car somewhere park it. Call a shuttler and have him/her take you to where you want to start then hike to your car.
Or hike in the Smokies ( provided you don't have a dog) drive to and ranger station park your car and make a weekend loop
Most people hike with a partner and leave cars at both ends of the hike. That is why you see hooking up threads on WB.
Some pay someone to shuttle them to the other end of their hike and hike back to their car.
Others ride a bike one direction on the highway and hike back to the car
And the last resort is to hike either a loop or out & back
