There is a map on my fridge
It’s tall but it’s narrow.
Tilt it a bit right
It lines up with North arrow.

A thin red line
Winds in a peculiar manner
Between Springer in the south
And Katadin in Maine’s middle matter.

I’ve made my red line
Both brighter and wider.
Section by section
Higher and higher.

New Jersey is next
Maybe on into MA.
Depends on some things
All working out OK.

I may go back in the spring
Or maybe the fall.
It doesn’t matter when
As long as at all.

I may go alone
Or maybe with friends.
Either way it’s all good
I’ll be there again.

This narrow map on the fridge
Is worn and a bit tattered
But it allows me to trace
Many steps that so much matter.

nice man. how long ya been sectioning? and do you go in order (south to north) or kinda jump around? How much you got left?

(If my trail name wasn't "moccasin," i'd be "questions" haha)

Very Nice. My tall, thin map is behind my desk at work. Co-workers added a cut-out little hiker guy to indicate my next section.

Great poem. My map's at the office, too. I'll leave it there when I retire so the folks that are left behind can follow along on my thru.

Ditto with me, Deadeye. It is right in front of me as I type. I also have a picture of the Big K as my background screen.

BTW, great poem you have there Tractor!! :sun

Well done - my map is here at the office. Oh, and there's another one at home near the stack of backpacker magazines and AT books.

Nice poem. I have a map in my classroom and one here by my puter. Both have that solid red line as well.
