Anyone needing Trail Zip codes in a hurry can also check out the On-Line version of the Thru-HikersCompanion at www.aldha.org which lists thisinformation. Also good resource if you need to call a Post Office or other trailside facility.
Looks like KK reached Fontana today and plans to head into the Great Smokey Mountains tomorrow. Temps in the single digits... snow...
did Karl's trail name of 'Still Here' stick or not?
Okay, I missed that one... as far as I know he's still Kayak Karl...
its from SORUCK - we were talking as he was getting ready to leave - apparently that morning someone had found him and said "You're Still Here" (having spent 3 days at NOC) and Karl was thinking that would be an appropriate trail name.
