Looking for reviews of the combo rain jacket/pack cover called the "Packa" from hikers who already own it.

I have one and have used it on a 4 day trip in the Smokies last November. While there was no rain, it was windy and cold. I used the Packa to block the wind and it did good in that respect. I am very hot natured and sweat brushing my teeth, so it was hard for me to regulate my body heat while hiking even with the pit zips. The zipper pulls are very small and I will be adding some grosgrain tabs to those to make it easier to find and get ahold of. Also, there are some cable locks around the hood that can fall off pretty easily, so that will have to be dealt with as well. I wish the hood had a bill in order to keep rain out of my eyes, but I guess I'll have to wear a baseball cap for that.

Overall, I am happy with mine and it will be in my pack at all times.

I'd have too say it works like a charm, Ever since I bought mine, I have never been wet.
Of course it hasn't rained on me either. Is it the luck of the Packa or the drought in the south?

I got mine for Christmas, so I haven't used it on the trail in the rain. I did use it around my neighborhood with my pack on, in the cold wind with a tiny bit of sleet. It did a much better job of keeping me warm, yet not sweating in the wind. My wind jacket had me sweating. I think one of the keys is that the air can circulate between the pack/back better. It's also a good size for a pillow since it goes into the pocket.
