It doesn't happen much down here, and it's no big deal to our Northern members, but Bloodmountain has a beautiful covering of snow and ice this morning. When the road conditions improve I'll be heading up there!

Well, the hike was a lot of fun!! The snow was short-lived and began to turn to slush shortly after I started. The steep rock heading to the summit was coversd in ice and the footing was very slippery, so I bushwacked through the laureals to reach the top. I took the Freeman trail down. Only slipped and fell once! Going back tomorow with some Atlanta friends. The sky cleared and the temps got up in the 50's. Don't get many oppurtunities to hike in the snow here, so you have to sieze the moment!
Sorry Hooprat, but I don't have photo capibilities.

Thats sounds like my experience on a small Roan hike last year. I was walking the edges instead of the trail.

There was ice in the toilet at Mtxings. Fri. morning. Worse than that, my beer froze on the kitchen counter.
