So I was thinking sleeping bag wise, I would use my REI Kilo 0 degree for the first part of the trail then in the summer further along I would use my Golite 20 degree adrenaline bag. Are these good choices? Thanks!

Nope, you're going to burn up. Figure the Comfort Zone to be about 10 degrees above the bag, so your 20 degree bag is comfy around 30 degrees. How often does it get to 30 degrees in July?

Im starting April 4th so maybe thats too hot should I do the 20 degree bag for the first part then switch to a 40 degree bag for the middle of summer?

My down bag can take me down to 25 degrees or lower, but I've used it as a blanket when sleeping on the floor of a friend I was visiting. The house thermostat was set at 70 degrees. Down has a high comfort range and opening it up like a blanket takes it the rest of the way.
