I hope it is okay to make this inquiry here. I have been off the grid for about 6 months and tried to log into the journal site tonight and they don't seem to be there. Does anyone know if they are history or just having problems?

Thanks,

I'm guessing recent (real recent) problems? I was just on there today following Kayak Karl's hike (someone posted it on another thread). That was about 2:00 p.m. eastern time. Just now checked and got nothing.

Thanks everyone. I guess they are upgrading their system to better our experience. Appreciate the quick replies.

Is working fine for me now. Was down for a while. They have an apology on the site for the down time. They made an unexpectedly quick move to a new server.

I always have trouble getting to Kayak Karl's journal. The only way I can get it is to go under 2009, find his name, and then click the link to Photos. If I click any of the other links, it tells me Journal Not Found.

See if this works for you. Tried it in preview and it can up. Hope he's doing okay. Have you heard anything? His map thing does not do to well on my computer.

I heard there was a rush at local hardware stores in Gerogia on rakes. Trail maintainers gotta get the path nice and cleared for Smitty!

I was on last night reading journals, no problem. Maybe it went up again last evening :) They do a great job - what a wonderful service to hikers!
